Just oats, honey, and water.
Yep. That’s it.
Something about his mask/breakfast makes my skin feel killer-soft and firm. Maybe it’s the anti-bacterial effects of honey, the moisture-retaining humectant qualities oatmeal, or its ability to gently exfoliate, but it boosts my skin 10x better than it carries brown sugar and raisins.
Time to make this magic happen.
I’m more of a winging-it gal when it comes to this stuff, but I’ve quantified the recipe.
Mix 1/2 cup oats with 1/2 cup water. Then add two tablespoons of honey.
Stir it up until the honey is dissolved.
Microwave it for two minutes. I suggest using instant oats, but if you are using steel cut, you may require more cooking time.
Before you use the mix, let it cool. You should notice that it gets slimy. This is what you want!
Apply.
The regular application.
Make sure your skin is clean and dry. Then take about a spoonful (a little goes a long way) and massage it into your face/body/wherever you want it. Once the mix has dried, wash it off with warm water. It gets sticky, so have a washcloth on hand just in case.
The ultra-deep application.
My favorite time to apply this is after a shower when my pores are soft/open. Just take a shower and repeat the same steps!
Store.
As you might have noticed, this recipe makes more mask than you’ll use in one sitting. I put what I have left in the freezer. When I want to use more, I just take it out and let it thaw, or reheat it in the microwave.
